American Sociological Association
International Associate membership category

The American Sociological Association is pleased to introduce the International Associate membership category. At the February 2007 ASA Council meeting, the Council approved an “International Associate” ASA membership category for scholars in non-globally competitive countries outside North America. The new International Associate category is available for renewing ASA members and for first-time members.

For a list of the countries that are not eligible for the International Associate category, visit here.

“International Associates” receive free online access to all ASA journals, as well as all other benefits of regular Associate membership, including access to the online Job Bank, discounts on ASA publications and services, and access to the member-only sections of the ASA website. (Associate members are not eligible to vote in the ASA election.)

The membership dues rate for “International Associates” is US$42.00 for the calendar year (January-December 2008), but unlike other ASA membership categories, International Associates are not required to purchase a print journal (although they may choose to do so at discounted member rates).

If you are interested in joining the ASA International Associate please visit its online membership site at http://www.asanet.org/cs/root/leftnav/join_or_renew/join. Or you may contact the ASA Membership Department at +1.202.383.9005 x389 and membership@asanet.org by email.
