Guidelines for presenters
General rules for all presenters
- Please select the group (Research Committee, Working Group, Thematic Group) to which you wish to submit your paper. The list of groups is available under the section Academic sessions. The sessions' descriptions are listed under the respective RC/WG/TG.
- Abstracts can be submitted in English, French or Spanish through the website:

- The abstract text cannot contain more than 300 words.
- A person (including sole author, co-authors, discussant, plenary speakers, session (co)chair, critic, roundtable presenter, poster presenter) can only be incorporated in the Congress programme twice, no matter their function (except Programme Coordinators and session organisers).
- One cannot present a paper in the same session that one is chairing.
- In order to be included in the programme, the participants (presenters, chairs, discussants, etc.) need to pay the registration fee by the early registration deadline April 10, 2012. If not registered, their names will not appear in the Programme Book nor in the Abstracts Book.

In case of a co-authored paper, at least one author needs to pay the registration fee by the early registration deadline April 10, 2012 in order for a paper to be included in the program.
Other co-authors must pay the registration fee if wish to attend the conference.
- It is recommended that each regular session uses its 90 minutes to accommodate 4-5 papers including at least 20 minutes for collective discussion. All other papers should be listed as distributed papers in the relevant session. These papers will be listed in the programme and their abstracts will be included in the abstracts book, providing the authors pay the registration fee by the early registration deadline April 10, 2012. If a participant does not show up, the first participant listed under distributed papers will be asked to present his/her paper.
- ISA does not collect and does not publish papers presented at its conferences.
Each Research Committee, Working and Thematic Group establishes its own rules on full papers submissions. Please contact your Session Organiser for further instructions.
- For a letter stating that your paper has been accepted for presentation, please contact directly the Organizer of the session.
Announcement of sessions deadline
15 July 2011
By July 15, 2011 a list of sessions to be organised by Research Committees, Working and Thematic Groups will be posted on the ISA website.
Abstract submission
25 August 2011 - 15 December 2011
- Anyone interested in presenting a paper should submit an abstract on-line to a centralised website which will be operational from August 25 through December 15, 2011.
- The author is required to state the Research Committee, Working or Thematic Group session in which s/he wishes the abstract to be included.
- Only abstracts submitted on-line can be incorporated in the sessions.
- Authors will be notified if their paper has been accepted or not in the programme (for presentation or as distributed paper) by January 15, 2012.
Session completion deadline
1 March 2012
The Programme Coordinator will handle all correspondence concerning the session and is responsible for informing authors and other session participants about the session schedule. It is the responsibility of the Programme Coordinator to ensure that this is done in a timely manner in order to provide ample time for participants to seek sources of funding, book flights, obtain visas, etc.
Early registration deadline
10 April 2012
On the registration deadline, April 10, 2012 presenters who have failed to register will be automatically deleted from the programme.
Last minute changes deadline
1 June 2012
The Programme Coordinator will have until June 1, 2012 to make last minute changes in the RC/WG/TG programme.
