The preliminary list of thematic areas:

  • Process of marginalization in urban slums
  • Social conflict and dysfunction in transitional societies
  • Growth of unemployment and the informal sector
  • Social alienation amongst marginalized groups

However, the papers referring to other aspects of the problems of inequalities, poverty and marginalization in contemporary societies, are warmly welcome.

The deadline for the submission of proposals is 15 February 2008. All communication, abstracts, proposals and registration details must be directed to:
