Membership Benefits and Fees



National Members

This category of membership is for countrywide associations of sociology duly established for scientific purposes which are open to all active sociologists. They are admitted by a decision of the Executive Committee, subject to ratification by the Council of National Associations.

Benefits:

* Members receive one copy of ISA publications: Current Sociology, International Sociology and the Directory of ISA Members.

* Voting rights at two major decision making bodies of the ISA: Council of National Associations and Assembly of Councils.

* Home page at the ISA web site or a hot link with its own.

* Reception of isagram, an electronic newsletter containing announcements of the forthcoming conferences, calls for papers and manuscripts, prizes, competitions, etc.

* Possibility of having its announcements circulated, free of charge, in isagram to ISA members.

* Possibility of grant for special activities.

* Possibility of organising sessions at ISA World Congress of Sociology.


Annual Fees:

You may choose to have annual fees calculated either as 1% of your association's annual budget or 1 US$ per each member per year. A minimum annual fee is US$ 300 for countries in Category A and B, and US$ 150 for countries in Category C (see the Table of Countries to identify your country category) and a maximum annual fee is US$ 5000 (or more if desired).

Regional and Other Members

This category of membership is for research institutions and universities or their departments, as well as other associations of sociologists active in the field of sociology.

An affiliated collective member from a country or groups of countries not represented in the ISA by a national sociological association, may be granted temporary regular collective member status by the Executive Committee, subject to ratification by the Council of National Associations.

Benefits:

* Members receive one copy of ISA publications: Current Sociology, International Sociology and the Directory of ISA Members.

* Home page at the ISA web site or a hot link with your own.

* Reception of isagram, an electronic newsletter containing announcements of the forthcoming conferences, calls for papers and manuscripts, prizes, competitions, etc.

* Possibility of having your announcements circulated, free of charge, in isagram to ISA members.

* Your association gets listed in the Directory of ISA Members.


Annual Fees:

Membership fees are divided into 3 categories, A, B and C, according to the gross national income (GNI) per capita of countries. See the Table of Countries to identify your country category.

Annual fees for each category are:

Category A: US$ 175
Category B: US$ 85
Category C: US$ 60
