The Department of Sociology seeks to employ a distinguished senior scholar of international reputation to begin in June-September 2014. We are looking for an individual of broad theoretical imagination and firm commitment to both research and teaching. A strong record in research publication and grant funding is a priority, and evidence of ability as a research leader is particularly welcome. Although candidates from all substantive fields are invited to apply, expertise in the areas of Contemporary European Societies, Socio-cultural Processes and Change, Social Identity, Historical Sociology, Sociological Theory, and Philosophy of Social Sciences will be given preference.
The duration of the employment contract will be one year, renewable up to three years. We also accept applications for one-year visiting professorship. The duties of the professor will include research and teaching. Salary: 2000 Euro per month (the wage is subject to withhold payroll taxes).
