St. John Fisher College. The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track position in Sociology at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates are expected to have their PhD by the time of appointment. We seek candidates who can specifically contribute with a critical perspective to Sociology of Health and to the Sociology of Aging and the Life Course, with particular emphasis on diverse communities. Candidates will also be expected to contribute to departmental teaching in general, including Introductory Sociology and Sociology of the Family.
In addition, candidates will be preferred who can contribute to the department’s graduate program in international studies. Teaching experience in a variety of areas preferred. Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching in a liberal arts environment and to an active scholarly agenda. The teaching load is nine hours per semester.
