1 - The general status of the Research Committee 14, "Communication, Knowledge and Culture" is defined by the articles 4.1 to 4.11 of the "International Sociological Association Statutes" dated January 1st, 1994.

2 - The RC 14 holds a General Assembly every four years, during the World Congress of Sociology.

3 - All the regular members of the ISA who have paid their membership to the RC 14 are entitled to participate in the General Assembly.

4 - The General Assembly elects for four years the President of the Research Committee and three Vice Presidents. Together they constitute the Board. They are all reeligible.

5 - The Board appoints among its members a Committee Delegate and an Assistant Delegate to the Research Council and to the Council Assembly.

6 - The RC14 membership fees amount to USD 40 for four years. The persons who come from non convertible currency countries can be exempted from the fees.

7 - The President manages the Committee funds. He/she accounts for their use during the General Assembly.
