Current position

Professor of Planning and Health Policy in the School of Planning (College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning) and affiliated with the Department of Women’s Studies and the Department of Sociology at the University of Cincinnati (USA).

Selected Publications
Author/editor of more than 90 publications, including The Clinical Sociology Handbook, issues of Sociological Practice, Clinical Sociological Perspectives on Illness and Loss: The Linkage of Theory and Practice and six editions of The Clinical Sociology Resource Book.  Her work on conflict intervention, organizational development, health, environmental justice and the history of clinical sociology has appeared in French, Spanish, Portuguese, English, Greek and Italian. 

Organizational experience
She was an Executive Committee member for 8 years, a faculty member for the ISA’s first three doctoral laboratories and the ISA representative to the United Nations in New York City for 4 years.  In addition, she has been president of ISA RC 46, a former vice president of both RC26 and RC46, and is now Secretary of RC 46.  She also was a member of a number of ISA EC permanent and ad-hoc committees including, for 4 years, the ISA’s Finance and Membership Committee.  She is the current representative of the ISA to the United Nations in New York City.
