Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology, former Senior Lecturer and Head of Department of Industrial Sociology, University of KwaZulu-Natal 1996-2008. Former Research Manager, National Arts Council of South Africa and currently Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Northwest, South Africa.
Organizational experience: recent-past President of the South African Sociological Association, 2007-2009. Ex-officio member of SASA Executive, Africa liaison, 2009-11 and current Board member of the Association of Non-fiction Authors of South Africa (ANFASA).
