Call for Bids

The International Sociological Association (ISA) organizes a major in-person event every two years, alternating between the Forum and the World Congress of Sociology.

Hosting the ISA Forum of Sociology or the ISA World Congress of Sociology offers a unique opportunity to unite the global community of sociologists in your country, creating a space for ideas, cultures, and perspectives to converge.

By welcoming participants from around the world, local organizers will significantly contribute to a global dialogue on pressing social issues. This event connects national and international scholars, empowering local researchers, academics, and students to engage directly with leading sociologists and social scientists from all continents. For universities and departments, hosting the Forum provides an exceptional platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and visibility on a global stage. It is an opportunity to be at the center of a transformative sociology event and showcase local expertise and academic excellence to a worldwide audience.

The Call for Bids to host the 6th ISA Forum of Sociology in 2029 is now under revision. Thank you for participating.

The Request for Proposals for hosting the XXII ISA World Congress of Sociology in 2031 is now open. Additional details can be found here.
