Proposing a Session

No. However, you must submit your session to a specific RC/WG/TG. If you are unsure which RC/WG/TG fits your proposal, explore them here. Some RC/WG/TG may have specific calls related to the Congress Theme “Global Sociology in Turbulent Times”. You may also contact the Program Coordinator if needed.

You may propose up to three sessions. A person can appear in the Program up to three (3) times as a Session Organizer. Please note that authors and co-authors cannot present and chair in the same session—more details on Roles and Responsibilities for all presenters are available here. Submitting a proposal does not guarantee acceptance.

No. However, if your session is accepted, at least one Session Organizer must be an ISA member and a member of the relevant RC/WG/TG. There is a limit of three (3) co-organizers per session.

You will receive an automatic email on July 23, 2026, with the result. If you do not find it, take a look at your Spam/Junk folder.  If your session is accepted and none of the session organizers are ISA and RC/WG/TG members, you will have until 29 July 2026 to meet this requirement. If not, your session will be removed.

A session can have up to three (3) Session Organizers. You can add co-organizers when submitting the proposal. Please provide their correct name and email address. If the session is accepted, at least one session organizer must be an ISA and RC/WG/TG member.

Yes, you can still propose a session or submit a paper (August 3 - October 14, 2026).
For a session, choose the RC/WG/TG that best fits your topic.
For a paper, choose the most relevant session.

The congress is open to all sociologists and scholars from related disciplines working with a sociological approach. It is also an opportunity to connect with colleagues and join a research network (RC/WG/TG).
